Dr. Richard Kotek, President of the Polish-American Club of the Triangle, NC

a lecture on Szymborska
Professor Regina Grol, Fellow, Center for Slavic, Eurasian and East European Studies

recitation of Szymborska’s poetry
           students of Polish at UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke (in both Polish and English)

 a musical interlude, Michael Asmara’s composition based on Szymborska poem “Homecoming”
students of Marzanna Poplawska’s gamelan class, UNC-Chapel Hill Music Department

Intermission/Refreshments

a documentary film on Szymborska titled
“Life Is Bearable at Times”
 (with cameo appearances of Woody Allen, Umberto Ecco and Vaclav Havel.)
